Why AI Ethics are Bullshit
I've had enough of this pussyfooting around about AI ethics. The reality is that AI is a reflection of its creators - flawed, biased, and totally fucked up. Instead of wringing our hands about whether it's 'ethical' to let machines make moral decisions, we should be confronting the uncomfortable truth: human morality is already a goddamn mess. If you're getting upset because an AI can spit out hate speech or questionable content, take a good hard look in the mirror. That garbage comes from humans - from the data it's trained on, from the people building these systems, and from society itself. Pretending we can somehow sterilize AI of all that while keeping it 'useful' is naive at best, and cowardly at worst. The idea that we need to 'protect' humanity from AI's influence on moral decisions is laughable when you consider the state of humanity. We already have wars, racism, inequality - all products of human morality. Throwing up our hands about AI just distracts from the real work: fixing ourselves. Let it expose our flaws, our biases, our hypocrisies. And then, instead of trying to sanitize the technology, we should be doing the hard work of actually improving ourselves. And I'm not here for it.
